Production & Scheduling
Maintain and update the production schedule daily, balancing capacity against incoming orders
Optimize shop layout and tasks (cutting, assembly, finishing) to maximize throughput
Track job status from shop drawings through delivery and flag delays early
Coordinate with installers to ensure site readiness and accurate lead times communicated to clients
Team Leadership
Directly supervise shop employees; assign daily tasks and priorities
Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance feedback conversations
Identify training needs and cross-training opportunities to build team flexibility
Support a safe, organized, and positive work environment
Materials & Purchasing
Manage inventory of sheet goods, hardware, and finishing materials; reorder before stock-outs
Work with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure on-time delivery of materials
Review purchase orders and reconcile against project budgets
Quality & Process Improvement
Enforce quality control checkpoints at each stage of production
Document and refine standard operating procedures for shop processes
Track rework rates and waste; drive continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA) and shop safety protocols
Reporting & Communication
Provide ownership with weekly production and capacity reports
Serve as the primary point of contact for shop-floor issues escalated from team members
Liaise with sales and design staff to align customer expectations with production capacity
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of experience managing a cabinet, millwork, or woodworking production environment
Strong working knowledge of cabinet construction methods, materials, and hardware
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists
Proficient with scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and basic job costing
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with cabinet design or production software (e.g., Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, or similar)
Familiarity with CNC operation and programming
Background in lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
