Aberdeen Studio is seeking a skilled Finishing Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the final preparation, finishing, and quality control of custom cabinetry, millwork, and furniture projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, maintains high standards of quality, and has extensive experience with a variety of finishing systems and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and finish-sand custom furniture, cabinetry, and millwork projects.

• Apply stains, paints, lacquers, polyurethane, hard-wax oils, and other finishes to project specifications.

• Operate and maintain finishing equipment and spray booth areas.

• Inspect projects prior to finishing to ensure readiness and quality.

• Serve as the final quality control checkpoint before projects leave the shop.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Collaborate with the fabrication team to ensure project schedules and quality standards are met.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional finishing experience in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, or furniture production.

• Strong understanding of water-based finishes, pre-catalyzed lacquers, polyurethane finishes, hard-wax oils, and paint-grade systems.

• Excellent measuring, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of finishing equipment, tools, maintenance, and best practices.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining high craftsmanship standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior woodworking, cabinetry, furniture, or millwork experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects.

• Self-motivated with a strong desire for personal and professional growth.
